Navigating the Uncertainty of Powering Today’s Scale Ups: Building Resilient Companies Today
It’s no surprise that Canadian entrepreneurs are continuing to feel the doom and gloom of the fundraising landscape. It is beginning to feel like there is an “approach with caution sign” at every corner. The recent federal budget seems like another challenge to how we incentivize the mobilization of capital to help keep BC-based companies anchored here. But the fact remains that companies are starting and scaling their companies in BC, and many don’t have any intention of leaving. Rather, they are building resiliency into their companies from day one, with the drive and ambition they are bringing to their markets and customers, they are bringing to their funders.
Earlier this year, Elevated Signals announced $7.9 CDN in Series A financing, and now are moving to a Series B financing, led by Yaletown Partners. Also this year, Fort Capital provided financial advisory services to Poseidon Ocean Systems on their $20.75M CDN Series B financing (which included InBC as one of their main investors).
